Web CommentaryIn October of 1923, Elizabeth Rosen, wife of Russian diplomat Baron Roman Romanovich Rosen, wrote to Isabella to let her know of her daughter's engagement to an American. The Rosens were forced to flee Russia by the Bolsheviks in 1917, and Isabella raised funds to help them start a new life in a new country. They eventually settled in New York where their daughter, Elizabeth Romanova, met and married Eric Dahlgren.
