Not on viewWeb CommentaryThis photograph of famed Spanish matador Luis Mazzantini was likely acquired by Isabella after the bullfight she attended in Seville, Spain in 1888. It was at this bullfight that Isabella witnessed Mazzantini, as she inscribed on his photograph, “kill 3 bulls.” One of these bulls was said to have been in Isabella’s honor, which horrified her.
