Jack Gardner enjoyed experimenting with photography, and there are several photographs in the collection that he took while traveling around the world with Isabella. This photograph is of a scene closer to home: a baseball game in Boston. We know that Isabella was a Red Sox fan who shocked Boston society by wearing fan gear to a symphony concert after the team’s 1912 World Series win. This photograph suggests Jack was also a fan of the sport—and almost certainly supported the Sox.
