Not on viewWeb CommentaryCovered with metal leaf that simulates gold, these sheets are decorated in high relief with European and Japanese patterns. Isabella Gardner used this leather-paper to line the back of the silver cabinet in the Dutch Room. The pale gold patterns provide a subtle contrast to the profusion of silver objects.
