Web CommentaryThis playful Italian drawnwork lace panel rests in one of the Veronese Room lace cases. Drawnwork is created through removing the warp and weft threads from an even-weave piece of fabric. By removing the threads, lacemakers are able to create intricate patterns and shapes.
ProvenanceNotesEntered Isabella Stewart Gardner's collection at an unknown date.
