Note: His technical innovations and naturalistic painting style influenced many painters, including Fra Angelico and Piero della Francesca, and were pivotal to the art of the Renaissance. He began his career working in Venice, but later moved to Brescia where he worked for Pope Martin V, whom he later followed to Florence. In Florence he completed some of his most famous works, including the 'Adoration of the Magi' and the Quaratesi polyptych for S Nicolo sopr'Arno. In 1425, he moved to Siena, and then later to Rome in 1427, where he continued to work for Pope Martin V at Saint John Lateran. The work he completed there before his death was said to have influenced the wall paintings for the Sistine Chapel. Italian painter.
