Giotto

Giotto designed the campanile or bell tower adjacent to the cathedral in Florence. He died long before the tower was complete, and his plan was not followed in the two successive campaigns led by Andrea Pisano and Francesco Talenti that finally brought construction to an end. Italian painter.
