Leonardo Bellini

(Italian illuminator, painter, active ca. 1443-1490)

He was the nephew and student of Jacopo Bellini. After the death of his natural father Paolo Remario, he adopted his maternal uncle's name, Bellini. His known paintings are mixed media on panel. His best known work Tconsists of approximately 200 miniatures in a Hebrew manuscript known as the Rothschild Miscellanea. (ULAN, accessed 7/28/2015)
