Career

Began, 1879, in employ of Howe & Goodwin, Calcutta commission merchants, Boston. Retired, 1906. Began search in Massachusetts for American silver, resulting in exhbns. of America silver at Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, 1906 and 1911. Made inventory of the church silver of N.E., and researches as to American silversmiths, resulting, 1913. in publication by National Society Colonial Dames of “The Old Silver of American Churches.” Author: Historic Silver of the Colonies and Its Makers, 1917.
