Adolphe Braun & Co.active Paris 1850 - 1890

Adolphe Braun opened his first studio in Dornach in 1850. He opened another studio in Paris in 1868. Another source says that the firm was based in Mulhouse, France, with branch offices in Paris. In 1873, Adolphe Braun and his son Gaston opened another studio in Paris where they were assisted by another photographer, Léon Clément. Upon Adolphe Braun's death in 1877, the firm was run by Adolphe Braun's son Gaston, his son-in-law Léon Clément and Louis Pierson. At this point the firm may have changed its name to "Braun, Clément & Cie." [Getty ULAN, accessed 4/18/2018, M. Phelps]
