A note by Morris Carter in the transcript for the letters of Elizabeth "Meg" Stewart explains: "Mrs. Elizabeth Stewart & two daughters living in Edinburgh whom Mrs. Gardner knew only by correspondence. Jean was the older daughter and Betty the younger. There was also a son Charles." Birth year from letter from his mother to ISG (Elizabeth "Meg" P. Stewart). MP 4/19/19
