Innsbruck Court Glassworksactive Innsbruck, 1570 - 1591

The Innsbruck Hofglashütte was founded in 1570 by Archduke Ferdinand II of Tyrol (1529–1595) and maintained until 1591. As a princely foundation, it is the first of its kind. A globally unique collection of glasses and glass objects made in Innsbruck has been preserved in the holdings of the Kunsthistorisches Museum Vienna and can be seen at the Vienna and Ambras locations.
