A county in west-central England; it was incorporated with Hereford from 1974 until 1998; it is now a separate county again. The county lies in the English Midlands to the south of Birmingham, lying mostly in the basin of the Severn. Much of the area is fertile ground with wheat being an important crop; cattle breeding and fruit growing are also important. Industries include engineering, chemicals, and food processing.
