Vejle
The city and seaport of Vejle is located on Vejle Fjord in the eastern Jutland of Denmark, northwest of Fredericia. It received its charter in 1327 and was an important medieval center. Surviving historic architecture includes the 13th-century Church of St. Nicolas. The modern city is the seat of the county commune of Vejle. It is an agricultural distribution center with good harbor facilities, local industries producing textiles, foundry iron, hardware, canned goods, and toys. The 2004 estimated population was 49,600.
