Clark, Henry Hunt was born on September 15, 1875 in Haverhill, Massachusetts, United States. Son of Herbert Appleton and Ella Amelia (Fletcher) Clark.

Massachusetts Institute Technology, class of 1898, School Museum Fine Arts (Boston), 1899. Studied abroad, and pupil of Doctor Denman W. Ross.
