Charles Joseph Dyer

American
BiographyCharles Joseph Dyer was an aspiring opera singer from Massachusetts who traveled to Germany in 1891 to learn from the European masters. Over the following ten years, Dyer led a peripatetic life, studying music in Germany, France, England, and Italy, and occasionally earning a living as a singing master himself. Dyer appears to have been respected, and he enjoyed life in social circles that included artists and the elite of Europe and expatriate America. There are a few letters from Dyer in the ISGM archives, where Dyer agrees to help ISG during Fenway Court's "open days."
