Painter, watercolourist, engraver (burin). Portraits, genre scenes.
He was the son of the painter and engraver Johann Passini and the pupil of Carl Werner. He became a member of the academy in Vienna with Petter, Führich, Kupelwieser and Ender. He was active in Rome and Venice and in 1874 was a member of the academy in Berlin as well as an honorary member of the academies in Vienna and Venice. In 1878 he was made a Chevalier of the Légion d'Honneur. He was awarded medals in Paris in 1870, in Vienna in 1873, in Munich in 1879, in Vienna in 1888 and in Berlin in 1896. In 1893 he was decorated with the order of merit for arts and sciences. His key works are Portrait of the Painter Rudolf Henneberg and A Confidence.
