Biography
Print auctioneer and dealer in Stuttgart. Father of Richard and Otto. Began career in 1856 as the manager of the London branch of Goupil. Returned to Stuttgart in 1864 where set up his auction house specialising in prints and drawings, which had high reputation for scholarship and accuracy.
