Lillie Lawlor

Born in New York in 1868. Lawlor came to San Francisco with her family as a child. During the 1880s she studied painting with William Keith. She was active in the local art and society scenes until about 1915. A professional singer, after her voice failed she moved to Paris where she lived until 1935. Returning to New York, she died there on Oct. 1, 1936.
