Swan Group
Athens, 550 BCE - 500 BCE
A large group of Athenian black-figure vase-painters working in a similar stye whose names are unknown. Beazley called them the Swan Group, naming them after the swans (painted in black without incision but often with details in red) with which they decorated miniature vases. The decoration usually included rows of short strokes as well as swans. A very large number of vases have been attributed to the group.
