BiographyCousin of Isabella Stewart Gardner. A note by Morris Carter in the transcript for the letters of Elizabeth "Meg" Stewart explains: "Mrs. Elizabeth Stewart & two daughters living in Edinburgh whom Mrs. Gardner knew only by correspondence. Jean was the older daughter and Betty the younger. There was also a son Charles." Birth year from content of her correspondence with ISG (letter dated 11 December 1916, in which Elizabeth "Meg" Stewart states "I am 50 but do not feel old"). MP 4/19/19
