He is the primary photographer of the photographs included in the album of Roque Island (v.) and is likely an uncredited photographer for many other photographs in the museum's archive. He was a member of the Boston Camera Club, and his photographs are also in the collection of Historic New England. A collection of his photographs of family estates and of geology and nature are held at the Gardner family archive on Roque Island. He grew up on Marlborough St., and later at 51 Commonwealth Ave. In later years, his primary residence was family's home in Bourne, on Monument Beach known as Briarwood.
