Whilst they may have the reputation of being involved with electroplating this did not deter the company from a commitment and reputation for high-quality craftsmanship for solid silver items. Elkington & Co were inspired by historical styles such as Renaissance and Rococo which set trends and decorative pieces to the 19th century. Their attention to detail and intricate designs were indications of the high quality of the work, which was significantly acknowledged by royalty and celebrities of the time, including the monarch Queen Victorian who commissioned household items; this aided their already increasing reputation. One of the further main high points of their career was obtaining an Imperial and Royal Warrant of Appointment from the emperor of Austria.
