BiographyNancy Berliner, Curator of Chinese Art at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, examined this object on 11 August 2020, stating that this painting was probably painted by a Chinese artist working in Japan, based on the smaller scale design which is much more common in Japan than China. Nancy Berliner went on to state that Chinese artists commonly lived and worked in Nagasaki primarily. She also examined that the painting has two seals depicting two different names, Nancy Berliner questions if there were two different artists that collaborated on this piece.
