Note: Johnston is known for his design of the corporate identity of the London Underground including the sans-serif typeface used throughout. He taught at the London Central School of Arts and Crafts, and the Royal College of Art, South Kensington. He is credited with reviving the art of calligraphy in the western world through his book "Writing & Illuminating, & Lettering" (1906). British calligrapher and graphic designer.
